The Championships,
Wimbledon
I manage the Centre Court press seats at Wimbledon, a role in which I am required to resolve conflicting demands while remaining calm and professional. I am also part of the senior team in the press centre, ensuring an efficient and organised environment and effectively responding to media queries.
Virgin Money London Marathon
At the Virgin Money London Marathon my interpersonal skills and ability to implement a plan ensure the pre-race proceedings of escorting celebrity runners to the start and facilitating radio and tv interviews with selected runners is successful. My strong time management, communication and organisational expertise are also used as I liaise with the Guinness World Records team and photographers to arrange timely photo calls with record-breaking runners.
Fever-Tree Championships
Since 2017 I have been the managing editor of the tournament programme and daily order-of-play booklets for the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club. Alongside editing, proofreading and fact-checking copy, writing content and sourcing images, this role requires me to think creatively, meet deadlines and to work closely with designers and other tournament staff.
Zhengzhou Open
My role as international media manager at the Zhengzhou Open required me to be organised, creative and personable as I ensured player PR activities ran efficiently, fulfilled all obligations and adhered to strict time constraints. Other duties included obtaining player quotes for international syndication, assisting with the smooth running of the press conferences, writing press releases and gathering social media content.
Marketing Pig
I regularly work with the team at Marketing Pig, carrying out a wide variety of PR and marketing projects which include creating and implementing social media plans and strategies, undertaking comprehensive and analytical market research and writing targeted press releases and editorial copy. These roles utilise my creative, investigative and planning skills and demonstrate my ability to show initiative while ensuring all the project demands are fulfilled.
BHS Challenge Awards
Copy editing and proofreading a comprehensive collection of pamphlets for a new national equestrian awards initiative demonstrated my meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in spelling, grammar and punctuation, and confidence to suggest changes which would enhance readability. This project also required a high level of focus and concentration to ensure the work was completed to an extremely tight deadline.
Adelaide International
I have worked at the tournament in Adelaide since 2018 and my role includes accompanying players to off-site PR opportunities, assisting with the organisation of the event launch and facilitating player interviews. To fulfil these roles successfully it is imperative that I am organised, flexible and approachable and my time management and interpersonal skills are strong. I also write press releases, oversee the running of the press centre and implement crisis communications strategies.
Horse & Hound
I have been a report and features writer for Horse & Hound since 2004, regularly supplying copy for publication in both the magazine and online. Below are a selection of articles from their website.
